| Some very good trout caught here over the years, difficult to fish after mid summer because of the weed.

| An excellent early season lake, until the weed grows in mid summer making most of the lake unfishable.
It can still be fished successfully, but it is worth changing to floating lines and dry flies, casting over the weed into clear patches. Fishes well with spinner or fly. Most traditional wet flies will catch, the best flies being :- Hares Ear Nymph, Pheasant tail nymph, Greenwells Glory and Bibio. As for dry flies, Coch Y Bonddu, most Sedge patterns, and of course Daddy Longleg imitations, at the right time of year. |
